Carmen Barasona presents CARMELA,an elegant and complete collection of the most avant-garde inspired by public transport seats during the 1960s.
For the occasion, from her studio in Barcelona, the multifaceted designer creates CARMELA with special emphasis on the shapes of the polyhedic lines fitting perfectly with the philosophy of ICON de Ecus: to offer functionally comfortable pieces and that at the same time convey a restful well-being.
Thus, Barasona fulfills the commission of ECUS and develops a design that articulates the relationship that is established between the architectural space and personal well-being, showing off its creativity and savoir-faire.
In line with the versatile and surprising character of ICON, CARMELA has an armchair, sofa, puff and chair, as well as offering numerous possibilities when it comes to combining its textiles, both in a variety of colors and textures. Barasona’s proposal are elegant fabrics that, combining two shades in the upholstery, manage to make this armchair a fresh and striking piece that does not go unnoticed.
In a collection of these features is all thought out to the smallest detail, and in the case of CARMELA the minutiae of its creator is reflected even in the stitching of the upholstery, which are in perfect harmony with the interior upholstery while the exterior is covered by a single seamless fabric.
