Ofuro, a space designed by Carmen Barasona for ramonsoler
Ofuro: a haven of well-being, matter and contemplation
Ofuro, is a serene and deeply material project, inspired by the tradition of the Japanese bath and conceived as a ritual sequence. Stone, wood, water, light and reflections dialogue in harmony to build an environment of calm, seclusion and timeless beauty. This proposal turns the bathroom into an experience of conscious pause, where each element has been designed to promote the connection with the essential.
Inspired by Japanese tradition, the ofuro is characterized by a deeper and more compact bathtub than Western ones, designed not so much for functional bathing as for immersion and well-being. This greater depth favours a more intense feeling of seclusion and relaxation, turning bathing into an almost ritualistic experience, where water, silence and permanence build a moment of deep calm.
Ofuro proposes a new way of inhabiting the bathroom, inspired by the Japanese immersion ceremony and the value of water as an essential element. The project is based on a clear idea: to transform the bathroom space into a place of pause, silence and regeneration, where well-being is expressed through an intimate and sensory experience.
The tour is structured as a ritual sequence. First, the shower area acts as a preparatory space, evoking one of the fundamental principles of Japanese ofuro: washing before immersion. Then comes the moment of pause, with a bathtub conceived as the symbolic center of the project, inviting you to stop, immerse yourself and remain. The stepped platform introduces a slow and conscious choreography that turns the everyday gesture into ceremony.

The most intimate areas are articulated without unnecessary compartmentalisation, through a precise arrangement of volumes and changes in height. In front of the bathtub, a mirrored plane amplifies the depth of the space and restores a veiled presence that preserves seclusion. The reflections appear and disappear with subtlety, while the mirrors collect the light, duplicate the matter and lengthen the spatial perception, reinforcing the contemplative dimension of the project.
The proposal is completed with a sculptural washbasin, warm metallic accents and a carefully measured atmosphere. The sound of water accompanies the tour, a musical composition of slow pulses helps to order time, and an oriental-inspired olfactory note, with sandalwood, noble woods and a nuance of soft smoke, envelops the atmosphere with a feeling of deep calm. More than decorating a bathroom, Ofuro proposes a return to the essentials.
Innovation, design and comprehensive bathroom furnishings: ramonsoler Group
ramonsoler Group, a benchmark in design and technology for the integral equipment of the bathroom, will be present at Casa Decor 2026 with Ofuro, a space designed by Carmen Barasona and her studio Barasona Diseño y Comunicación. Located in space no. 13 on the first floor of Casa Decor 2026, this new project proposes an intimate and leisurely sensory experience, inspired by the Japanese tradition of ritual bathing, where water, matter, light and reflection are integrated into an enveloping and contemporary atmosphere. In this exclusive space, the firm presents a complete and coordinated proposal that expresses its global vision of the bathroom, understood from well-being, architecture and emotion.
ramonsoler Group conceives Ofuro as an integral bathroom proposal, in which each element contributes to building a coherent, functional and sensory experience. To complete this 360 vision of the bathroom space, the project incorporates the Alma collection of toilet and bidet, with right angles and rounded corners. Also, new all-metal washbasins and a 160 x 80 cm resin shower tray, thus expanding the firm’s offer within the universe of contemporary bathrooms.
In this edition, ramonsoler Group reinforces its commitment to global bathroom equipment with solutions designed to dialogue with each other within the same architectural concept. This comprehensive view allows us to build a coordinated space, where design, functionality, material and innovation come together in the same proposal.
On this global bathroom base, ramonsoler equips Ofuro with a careful selection of taps, shower systems, hydrotherapy and bathroom accessories, all in brushed copper finish.
Present in the space are the Hercules outdoor shower column by ramonsoler, made of stainless steel, which elevates the outdoor experience with a combination of resistance, durability and warm elegance; the new shelf bathtub tap, the shelf basin tap and the free-standing washbasin monocolumn from the Adagio collection, a series awarded with the German Design Award, iF Design Award and Good Design Award, which reinterprets the essence of classic taps from a modern, serene and timeless language.
In the shower area, the proposal is completed with the Tríada cylindrical shower heads, designed to offer a unique sensory experience through an enveloping and revitalising rain effect, as well as allowing different heights to adapt to each project; the Artemisa shower head, whose stylized conical shape brings a modern and clean aesthetic to the bathroom; the Tube shower head, circular in format and diagonally out from the wall, which introduces a distinctive visual gesture; a hydrotherapy sprinkler recessed in the ceiling with double rain and waterfall outlet; and RS Smart, a thermostatic system that allows up to three water outlets to be operated at the same time, reinforcing comfort and versatility of use. In addition to this, the entire Ergos range of ramonsoler bathroom accessories is added, with solutions ranging from brush holders, roll holders, soap dish and shelves to towel rails in different sizes, providing aesthetic and functional coherence to the whole.
Brushed copper: warmth, sophistication and resistance
Among the most distinctive features of the space, the use of brushed copper finish in the taps, shower systems, hydrotherapy and bathroom accessories stands out. This choice brings a unique warmth and a decorative nuance of great elegance, capable of turning each piece into a protagonist element within the space. Its presence enriches the collection and accentuates its architectural and ornamental character.
The brushed copper is made by PVD treatment and is part of ramonsoler’s Quality Finish range. This technology allows for high-quality finishes, prepared to offer great resistance to daily use and the passage of time. In addition to their aesthetic value, the Quality Finish finishes stand out for their excellent technical performance. They are up to ten times more resistant in the salt spray test than certified chrome plating, a quality that reinforces the durability of the product and consolidates its position within the premium segment.
Carmen Barasona: conceptual sensitivity and vision of space
Carmen Barasona, at the head of Barasona Diseño y Comunicación, signs in Ofuro a proposal of great conceptual sensitivity, where interior design, emotion and spatial narrative merge naturally. Collaborators who bring matter, art and atmosphere to the space
The Ofuro space is completed with the collaboration of firms that bring matter, texture, art and precision to the whole. Venux covers the entire water area with its Urban Black proposal, while Schotten & Hansen participates with the Smoke Dark flooring, composed of large-format planks in natural wood, up to five meters long and variable widths between 16 and 42 cm, as well as with the Ridgeline wall tile, a ribbed and textured surface in a 60 x 12 cm format. Studio Wild Orange adds an artistic dimension to the project with sculptural wall pieces, vases and an imposing totem pole, and Simon signs the integral lighting of the space, which includes backlighting, recessed spotlights, a custom-made sculptural pendant luminaire, as well as electrical mechanisms and sockets. This selection of collaborators is completed by SC Herrajes, with two Boom handles in a rustic bronze finish, and Valpaint, responsible for the painting of the space.
