Carmen Barasona shares her vision on design and communication at the Medellín Design Fair

Within the framework of the Medellín Design Fair 2025, Carmen Barasona —CEO of Barasona Diseño y Comunicación— gave a conference to more than 400 attendees within the “Perpetual Talks x Comfama” program. Under the title “Design and Communication”, the speaker reflected on how a project, no matter how brilliant, only makes sense when it is communicated strategically and coherently.
Although a few weeks have passed since his intervention, the approach is still fully valid: today, design and communication are two inseparable disciplines to ensure that a brand generates real impact.
Design that communicates: projects that tell stories
During the presentation, Carmen Barasona presented some of the most representative projects developed by her studio: residential and commercial interior design, brand flagships, international stands and complete identity and communication developments for leading firms in the sector, including Ramonsoler.
The conference highlighted how each project must tell a story. It’s not enough to design well: it’s essential to build a narrative that conveys values, purpose, and positioning. From the work methodology to the graphic communication, each decision influences the final perception of the user.

In addition to offering the conference, Carmen Barasona was also present as the designer of ramonsoler’s stand for the Medellín Design Fair. A contemporary and well-kept space that allowed the brand to exhibit its innovations in taps, finishes and bathroom solutions, reaffirming its international presence.
This project adds to the long history of collaborations between Barasona Diseño y Comunicación and Ramonsoler at fairs such as Salone del Mobile, Cevisama, ISH Frankfurt or Obra Blanca.
Communicating to transcend
In one of the central ideas of the presentation, Carmen Barasona stressed that design is today a strategic tool, and that a project cannot be understood without clear, emotional and effective communication. How a brand tells who it is determines its relevance, its recall, and its ability to connect with its audience.
A meeting that reaffirms a vision
Carmen Barasona’s participation in the Medellín Design Fair reinforces her career as a communicator, interior designer and creator of brand experiences. Its approach, which combines design, strategy and storytelling, continues to position Barasona Diseño y Comunicación as an international benchmark.
