Go back to 2009 to inspire Casa Decor 2026: “Suite Single”

There are projects that, over time, become a creative compass. As we move forward with the new edition of Casa Decor, we look again at one of those milestones that defined our way of understanding design: “Suite Single”, the space we presented at Casa Decor 2009.
At that time we wanted to go a step further than the established and pose a very clear question: what if the bathroom stops being an “annex” and becomes the true heart of the suite? Thus was born an experimental proposal where the bathroom almost completely absorbed the bedroom, creating a new way of inhabiting the space. An elegant and innovative interior that respected the virtues of the building and, at the same time, played with surprise, reflection and emotion.
The center of the project was articulated around a very powerful axis: a mirror island that transformed the perception of the whole. In this gesture, the functional and the unexpected coexisted: the piece concealed a bed and, at the same time, showed a sink and a work area, as if the space could mutate according to the time of day.
“Suite Single” was also a sensory exercise. The origami cascade and the presence of water were mixed with technologies capable of “domotizing” sensations: aromas, sounds and light were integrated to build an enveloping, almost dreamlike atmosphere, without falling into coldness. The experimental could be warm. The innovative, intimate.
In this narrative, the taps played a leading role. We proposed the Arola collection by Ramon Soler, designed by Toni Arola, with a sculptural presence and a gesture that marked the rhythm of the space: the fall of the water in the form of a very fine waterfall in the sink and an abundant and spectacular waterfall in the thermostatic bathtub taps. The play of mirrors multiplied shapes and reflections, reinforcing the purity of the collection.
Another iconic element was the glass mosaic wall, made up of different pieces, textures and formats, to compose a real work of art: an aerial view of Barcelona, converted into an interior skin.
Today, when we remember it, we understand why “Suite Single” continues to inspire us: because it speaks of our essence. Breaking conventions, designing from experience, balancing technology and emotion, and turning a space into a story.
We continue to create, we continue to dream and we continue to move towards Casa Decor 2026 with our eyes set on the new… and the heart connected to what has brought us here.
