The Social Council of the University of Valencia today presented its annual awards from the Social Council, recognising ASCER in the section Improving Knowledge.

The Vice-Presidents of the Spanish Association of Ceramic Tile and Flooring Manufacturers, Mr. José Castellano and Mr. Juan Francisco Ramos, have collected the award. The event was presided over by Rafael Ferrando, President of the Social Council of the Politicnica, and who has had the presence of Juan Juliá, rector of the UPV, and Ma José Catalá, Consellera of Education, Culture and Sport.

The Social Council of the UPV has awarded the company ASCER through its Ceramic Chair for its contribution in the training of future professionals and environmentally friendly economic and social development. Since 2006, the Ceramic Chair, sponsored by the Spanish Association of Ceramic Tile and Pavement Manufacturers (ASCER) attached to the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura, has collaborated with the UPV with the purpose of establishing a qualified university-company collaboration, through the development of teaching, research and technology transfer and knowledge programs to the productive sector, with the aim of disseminating the achievements among the university community architectural syllabus carried out with ceramic materials and to train the student, researching through the project of new architecture and original applications, in order to promote its use.
