Electrical mechanisms: 5.1 collection of Font Barcelona

Jaime Beriestain Studio, incorporates the new BCNY finishes of Font Barcelona in the collection of electrical mechanisms 5.1 for its project in Sant Gervasi, Barcelona

Under the Haussmann concept, axes and symmetry, Jaime Beriestain designs a timeless, sophisticated and warm floor, in the most Parisian or London style. The exclusive house of 360 m2 is located in the Barrio de Sant Gervasi of the city of Barcelona. An exclusive apartment, in which craftsmanship, art, design and the quality of materials are essential and are present in every corner.

To introduce the Haussmann style, the designer has used resources such as 20cm high baseboards, moldings on walls and ceilings, capitals in the door frames and openings with double doors. Obsessed by details, Jaime Beriestain himself designs the main elements of this apartment and creates the right furniture for his project. For example, design the living room table and small details such as the handles or the sink in the main bathroom.

Beriestain has completely changed the distribution of spaces, with the hall being the starting point for the creation of floor axes and obtaining a symmetry. The new distribution allows to have an orderly floor. Each volume is used and allows a pleasant tour on the floor. The main axis that divides the floor allows a double exposure. Instead of hiding the distribution aisles, they have been given importance and amplitude. The corridors are decorated with pieces of art and have unusual volumes. The different doors create divisions, which allows to segment the floor and have privacy.

Very concerned about proportions and color control, Jaime Beriestain has designed special custom furniture in the immense living room where furniture loses its proportions. With his exclusive designs, he has managed to respect precisely the colors he imagined in his initial concept. In the living room the range of colors is tone on tone of grays and taupe.

As Jaime Beriestain himself says – “There is no corner in this house that has not been designed. Each flooring, handle, trim or cladding has been carefully thought out and chosen.”

On the other hand, it is worth mentioning the presence of art in the house, providing a very powerful added value to the project. All artistic fields are represented on the floor through photographs, sculptures, paintings, prints and drawings. Young national artists such as Yago Hortal are exhibited together with renowned international artists such as: Jaume Plensa, Karin Kneffel, Peter Halley, Martin Chirino, Keith Haring and Andy Warhol.

Joy and color in the hall, to receive with strength, energy and dynamism. In the room, Ola Kolehmainen’s photography gives a new perspective and depth to the room.

In the kitchen, Keith Haring’s chalk poster brings freshness and spontaneity Originally, this piece is a poster that Keith Haring was drawing on the walls of the New York subway.

The chosen furniture belongs to designers of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, who have been meticulously chosen to please the taste of customers.

In line with the careful and meticulous work, the interior designer chooses the collection of 5.1 electrical mechanisms of Font Barcelona to complete his project and equip the entire apartment. Taking into account that the details make the difference, install the 5.1 collection with the new
BCNY
finishes, specifically the satin gold brass finish for plates and hands.

5.1
is the iconic collection designed by Oriol Guimerà and Joan Cinca. She has been internationally recognized with awards such as the Red Dot Design Award, Maison & Object Paris and A’Design Award. This collection combines straight and curved lines to create subtle volumetric effects, with a touch and sound that transmit quality and safety in each drive.

This collection is renewed and shows the new range of BCNY finishes designed to respond to the latest trends of the most avant-garde interior designers. This new range, inspired by the industrial architecture of Barcelona and New York, symbolized by the journey of Rafael Guastavino, an architect trained in Spain, and who successfully developed a career in the United States.

BCNY is the fusion of both acronyms in this inspiring family of materials and finishes that unites what is our own with the universal. The artisan tradition of Font Barcelona is reinforced in 5.1 with manual textures, not only in materials such as iron, but also in brass and copper.
